Who is This Course For?
This full online course is designed for people who:

• Need to add the maritime mode to their current dangerous goods training certificates; or
• Are taking on a new role where dangerous goods are transported by sea.

It is relevant to staff at all levels and across a wide range of roles within an organisation, including:

• Directors, managers, packers, production directors, personnel managers, supervisors and warehouse staff
• Delivery drivers and laboratory technicians
• Employees working for road vehicle operators and consignors
• Anyone involved in loading or unloading dangerous goods
• Personnel working in freight forwarding and shipping agencies

 
What Will I Learn?
Across the two online training days, you will cover:

• A comprehensive look at IMDG dangerous goods regulations and how they apply in real-world sea transport operations
• How to use and interpret the IMDG regulations correctly so that shipments by sea remain compliant
• How to classify goods in line with the UN Hazard Classes, including packing groups and proper shipping names
• The UN Packaging Scheme, from small packages through to tanks, and the specific requirements for different types of dangerous goods
• The correct processes for marking and labelling packages and completing the required documentation, including shipping papers
• The main health and safety considerations when handling and transporting dangerous goods
• The principles of segregation and stowage, including how to separate incompatible goods and arrange loads to minimise risk during transport

 
What Will I Achieve?
When you successfully complete the online course, you will be issued with an IMDG certificate that is valid for two years, in line with legislative changes across all modes of transport.

The remote IMDG Full Course includes:

• Live training delivered by a fully qualified Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA)
• Interactive worksheets to make the online sessions practical and engaging
• An IMDG certificate, which is valid for 2 years
