Who is This Course For?
Designed for public and private bus or coach operators who want independent assessments of:

• New or existing bus drivers as part of recruitment
• Drivers involved in complaints or incidents
• Drivers returning after a break or those who qualified some time ago
• Drivers who are new to UK roads and need their competence checked

What Will I Learn?
Although this is an assessment rather than a classroom course, drivers receive feedback based on:

• Highway Code knowledge and application in bus operations
• Vehicle checks, including walk-round inspections
• Hazard perception, defensive driving and passenger safety
• Speed selection, gear use and smooth driving for passenger comfort
• Route management, stop approaches and general passenger awareness
• Compliance with road laws, company procedures and industry standards

What Will I Achieve?
After the assessment you will:

• Know how your bus driving compares to expected standards
• Understand any safety, compliance or passenger-comfort issues identified
• Receive targeted recommendations to develop safer, smoother and more compliant driving

Operators can use the outcomes to support risk management, driver development and regulatory expectations (including FORS and DVSA-related standards). 

What is Included in the Cost?

• A 2–3 hour in-vehicle assessment on a varied route
• Observation of real-world bus driving, including passenger-focused behaviours
• Professional feedback from assessors with transport and compliance expertise
• A written report for each driver summarising performance and suggested improvements
